Basic Personality: Yagami is a straight A student. He has firm beliefs in right and wrong.Some would say he is a loner, obsessed with his studies. Yagami likesto think that he is a model citizen and student. Seeing wrong doingmakes him upset and he feels that the authorities don't do a wellenough job protecting the city. He tends to think that he knows what isbest for the people, and judges those who do wrong, quickly.
Background: Son to a police chief, Raito led a very structered childhood. Study for three hours a night, tidy up every day, call when you leave school... That sort of thing. Raito grew to enjoy conformity, structure, and the black and white basics of humanity. Some would say he was a mini-police chief.
If only they knew why he was so adimate about morality and right and wrong. He was very close to his uncle while growing up. They would go to trips to the museum and the planetarium often. They were inseperable. Some time later when he's father became police chief, Raito's uncle was locked up.Being fifteen years old, he asked what happened and the like. His father sat him down and explained to him that his uncle turned out to be a notorious jewel theif.
He couldn't understand how his own uncle, who spent so much time with him, the man he looked up to, turned out to be one of them. One of the bad guys. Devistated, Raito vowed to his father that he would hold true to the morals that was instilled in him. He vowed to himself that he would one day rid the world of all evil, all wrong doings. He couldn't understand how his own uncle, who spent so much time with him, the man he looked up to, turned out to be one of them. One of the bad guys.
From that day forward, he became the model student, the ideal son, the epitome of morality. His little sister soon began looking up to him, even teasing him on how good he was. In his mind, it was all the more reason to do good. To keep his sister safe.
